February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness month and recently, Domestic Violence Intervention visited Mrs. Adams’ and Mr. Wilsons’ health classes at CCHS with the goal to increase awareness and prevention of teen dating abuse. Students were able to participate in an educational training called, ‘In Their Shoes’. Designed with the classroom in mind, ‘In Their Shoes’ is a community education tool where students learn about and recognize the signs of teen dating violence. In the program, students were able to become one of the six characters and make choices based on real experiences of young people in teen dating abuse situations, essentially allowing them to walk in their shoes for a short time.
